If you are one of those country fans that are predicting the future of country music, it’s clear to this reviewer that E J Dease and her new CD “Light That Shines” will be shaping the sound of country music.

What struck me most about this new release was the diversity. Dease has written or co/written six of the thirteen tracks, which include songs ranging from up-beat country rock to a stand old-time 2-step and everything in between.

Her vocal stand out like Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire with a bit of sweet R&B. She is no country outlaw, but she is the real deal. Without spoiling your first listen, here’s my take on a couple of my favorites.

"I Know" opens up the CD on an up-tempo note with an outstanding banjo. The song is about a person who is wising they could get the love back in a old relationship and her man won’t let it go. The track is co-written by Chuck Murphy, Jeff Silverman and Debra Lyn.

“Heaven Would be Hell” A great production that highlights a power-packed voice that possesses great natural rhythm and warmth. E J is letting her man go and letting him know heaven would be hell with him! A nice combination of rock, country and R&B. The track is co-written by Chuck Murphy, Jeff Silverman and Debra Lyn.

"Lost and Found" was co-written by E.J. Dease and Chuck Murphy. The song is about a woman that has been hearing the same thing over and over from her man.

The track has all the right elements: Beautiful harmonic vocals, slide guitar and a fiddle in the background.

Andre de Dienes sell for record amounts!

BEVERLY HILLS (August 20, 2007) – OneWest Publishing sets the record books ablaze at Julien’s 2007 Summer Auction Sale in June by selling a record sales for vintage prints of Marilyn Monroe taken by the late master photographer Andre de Dienes.

Limited Edition CIBA chrome prints of Marilyn Monroe, in a famous 1949 seaside photo shoot by Andre de Dienes sold for $13,500, while some prints sold as high as $16,000.

Vintage prints, hand printed by Andre de Dienes, sold for as much as $6,300, while an umbrella, used in one of Andre’s more well-known prints, sold for as much as $42,000!

Chuck Murphy, CEO of OneWest Publishing, has been educating the public and the fine art market for years about the Andre de Dienes body of work and the true value of these immaculate prints. The Julien’s Auction results solidify the value and style of Andre’s work, and further immortalizes Marilyn Monroe as the iconic legend she portrays. “One of the buyers, William Doyle, said he planned to display them at the Museum of Style Icons in County Kildare in Ireland!” Murphy said in a statement.

"Light That Shines." This track is the most "country sounding" and up-beat track on the CD. This track, which is about having a higher power to help you find your way through the darker times in life is the uplifting namesake of the CD and is powerful enough for radio airplay. “Forgive Me” is a beautiful, heartfelt country ballad that talks about the love found and then lost. E.J. Dease sings this song with strength and love that we can all understand, relate to and connect. Her graceful vocals and lush harmonies ease the pain when she talks about what love failed to bring. “How Many Times” cleverly delves into descriptions of the intangibility of love. Dease sings, “It’s like the rain that falls at night. You know it’s there, just out of sight. The wind will blow it through the trees. You know it’s wet, you know it’s real”. The lines explore love’s elusiveness, while contending that love is indeed a definite, and sometimes, the only way to find it again is to leave behind a relationship that offers everything but.
